Ceramic tile comes in a range of sizes: from
1" x 1" mosaics up to 1' x 1' (or larger) squares. Ceramic tile is clay that's been hardened by fire. During that process, it can be left unglazed for a porous, natural finish. Or, tile is glazed for a sealed, durable surface. In most cases, glazed tiles are the best flooring tiles because they're wear-resistant and clean up easily. Porcelain tiles are a bit more expensive because their color and pattern go all the way through the tile.
